Nev.lt - Free and Secure URL Shortener

Why is Nev free?

When something online is free, the usual catch is that you pay in another way: with ads, with your data, or with a limit that pushes you towards a paid plan. Nev has none of these, so it is fair to ask how that works.
The short answer: Nevfar, the company that builds and runs Nev, pays for it, and it intends to keep doing so.

Who pays for Nev

Nevfar does. Servers, development, and the security systems that screen every link are paid for by Nevfar. Nobody who shortens a link or opens one is charged anything.
What Nevfar gets in return. A name people know. A useful tool that works well and costs nothing is the most honest advertising a company can do for itself. That is the whole business case.
Why a URL shortener. Google stopped creating new links with its own shortener, goo.gl, in 2019 and later announced that existing links would stop working in 2025. We think the internet still needs a shortener that is simple, safe, and not built to sell something.

What you do not pay with

No ads. Nev shows no ads on the site and none in front of your links. Visitors go straight to the destination.
No data sales. We collect as little data as possible and never sell it. Our Privacy Policy lists what is stored and why.
No limits that push you to pay. There are no paid plans. The number of links is not limited, and click statistics and a QR code come with every link. Compare this with the free plans of other shorteners.
No account. You do not hand over an email address or a password to use Nev.

Will Nev stay free?

Yes. Nevfar’s promise is simple: Nev will always be free.
What the promise covers. Shortening links, click statistics, QR codes, and link screening are free today and will stay free.

How you can help

Use Nev, and tell someone who needs to shorten a link. A free tool grows when people recommend it.
