Terms of Service
Effective Date: 2026-07-30
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Nev URL shortener, including our website, browser extensions, and Android app. By shortening a link, you agree to these terms.
If you are simply following a shortened link that someone else created, these terms do not create any obligation for you — only our
Privacy Policy describes what happens with your visit.
-
The Service
- Nev is a free URL shortening service operated by Nevfar. It lets you create short links, view their analytics, and generate QR codes without creating an account.
- The service is provided free of charge. There are no fees or subscriptions.
-
Acceptable Use
- You may not shorten links that lead to malware, phishing, or other content that is illegal or harmful.
- You may not use shortened links to deceive visitors about the destination they will reach.
- You may not abuse the service through automated bulk requests. Automated abuse may be throttled or blocked.
-
Link Screening and Removal
- Links are screened automatically when they are created and again when they are visited. Screening combines our own security systems with external threat intelligence.
- A link that is flagged as unsafe, or that breaches these terms, is removed, and its destination may be blocked from being shortened again.
- If you believe a link was removed in error, contact support and we will review the decision.
-
Link Storage and Expiration
- Links are stored permanently by default, meaning they have no scheduled expiration date. You can set a custom expiration date instead before shortening.
- We store permanent links for at least ten years from the day they are created. After that, a link that has gone unvisited for years may be removed, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- You can permanently delete a link you created, together with its analytics, within one hour of creating it, from the same browser session that created it.
- To request the removal of a link at any other time, contact support.
-
Analytics
- When a shortened link is visited, we record analytics for that link. What we record, and what those analytics show, is described in our Privacy Policy.
- Analytics for a link are available to anyone who knows the shortened URL.
-
Availability and Warranty
- Nev is provided free of charge and as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.
- We aim for uninterrupted availability but do not guarantee it. Features may change over time.
- No automated system can guarantee that every destination is safe, so use normal caution when opening any link.
-
Liability
- Shortened links redirect to destinations owned and operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the content of destination pages.
- To the extent permitted by law, Nevfar is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the service.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for injury to life, body, or health, for intent or gross negligence, or under mandatory consumer protection law. Your mandatory rights under the law of your country of residence remain unaffected.
-
Changes to These Terms
- These terms may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. Material changes will be announced on our updates page.
-
Jurisdiction
- These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Germany, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
- If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and nothing in these terms removes that right.
